From Milan take the “Autostrada del Sole” (motorway of “the Sun”), after 101 km. take the motorway Cisa towards Livorno. In the vicinity of Livorno, at the Livorno/Roma crossroad, choose the Rome direction. The most convenient exit from the motorway is Venturina with the indication Island of Elba. We need to point out that in the month of July and August it is necessary to book the ticket in advance (e.g. it is possible to reserve through phone call to Toremar (ferry company) 0565-31100 and then pay following the indications given, through post, or ask a travel agency), in order to avoid hours of waiting for the ferry. Furthermore remember that sometimes, in July and August, there are long tailbacks to board; it is convenient therefore to arrive in advance of the hour of departure (the companies demand at least 40 minutes). There is a small airport in Elba as well that is quite near to the village (1.4 km), so maybe you are interested in taking that alternative trip. However, few flights are arriving there.

From Portoferraio follow the sign for ALL THE DIRECTIONS. After a few kilometres, at a round about, follow the sign for Procchio and Marina di Campo. Then follow the main road till you get to Procchio. Once in Procchio you just need to follow the signs pointing to Marina di Campo. Some kilometres after Procchio, you’ll get to La Pila where you start skirting a hill (that will remain on the right side). After a couple of kilometres, when the road, after turning around to the hill, leads you away, after approximately 50 metres you’ll reach a private road on the right, with a sign saying Villaggio La Serra. Go to the front desk, where you will be given indications to get to your apartment, together with the keys. (It is 14 Km from Portoferraio to the village.)
